Join Aurora Theatre for what has become a Columbus Day tradition in Gwinnett, the Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament. It’s the most fun you can have on a golf course (legally). Different from most golf tournaments, this friendly competition focuses on the wackier side of golf with unconventional holes. Among them are a Heckle Hole, Tequila Shot Hole and a Crazy Costume Hole. Like most golf events, there will be prizes for the longest drive, closest to pin, hole-in-one contests and more. After hitting the links at beautiful Northwood Country Club guests enjoy a fabulous indoor picnic lunch and the opportunity to bid on valuable merchandise like Golf Outings and Theatre Tickets.

Why the Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament?

At a time when many non-profits are reducing their services, Aurora Theatre continues to expand our efforts to serve the community. Aurora Theatre awarded over $13,000 in scholarships for students to attend summer camp. The theatre attracts 50,000 annual visitors with 30,000 attending the Metro Waterproofing Mainstage Season. Aurora expanded the Harvel Lab Series, serving the community and providing the local economy a positive impact. Aurora Theatre supports other non-profits throughout the year. A good example is their participation in the USMC Toys for Tots drive for the past seven years, garnering enough toys for 2,000 children last holiday season during their Festival of Trees.

Aurora Theatre offers programming that may not be as widely known but supports youth and education in the community. The Learning Library series provides low cost, high quality educational shows for school field trips. Charitable funds raised help Title I schools who could not normally attend due to budgetary restrictions. To support local parents, Aurora Children’s Playhouse brings the best children’s performers in the region to Gwinnett on Saturday mornings.

Aurora Academy was created to give children important life skills that will enable them to be future leaders in the community and mold them into well-rounded individuals. Aurora Theatre is inextricably linked to this community, and could not do so much without fundraisers like the Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament.

The Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 with check-in from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and the Shotgun Start at 9 a.m. at the Northwood Country Club at 3157 Club Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.  To reserve a space, there a $100 per player entry fee.
