Shakespeare Evolution Series The ComediesThe Atlanta Shakespeare Company at The New American Shakespeare Tavern presents The Two Gentlemen of Verona as part of their Shakespeare Evolution Series.

Now that they have completed Shakespeare’s entire canon, they’re starting over by producing The Comedies in the order in which they were written! Get on board right from the start with these shows; they’ll have you rolling in the aisles all season!

Visit the Tavern for the first comedy Shakespeare ever wrote. Watch and laugh as close friends Valentine and Proteus both pursue the Duke of Milan’s beautiful daughter, Sylvia. See how Crab, “the sourest-natured dog that lives,” provides one of the first examples of the animal stealing the show. Don’t miss this rarely produced comedy.

Two Gentlemen of Vernona plays August 6-14 along with Sept 15, 18, 24 and 30.  It will be played in repertory August 6 – October 2 with two other comedies: The Taming of the Shrew, The Comedy of Errors.  Previews will be help on August 4 and 5.
