As reported by playbill.com, the national tour of Bring It On: The Musical has announced its cast. The musical, which had its world premiere at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre this past January, will begin performances on October 30 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Amanda Green, the musical, based on the popular movie franchise, has an original libretto written by Jeff Whitty.
The Atlanta production received ten Atlanta Theater Fan Award nominations, winning Best Musical and Best Choreography for Andy Blankenbuehler who will be directing and choreographing the tour. Earlier this week, it was announced that Bring It On: The Musical received eight Suzi Bass Award nominations.
Reprising their Atlanta Theater Fan Award-nominated roles from the Alliance Theatre production are Adrienne Warren as Danielle, Ryann Redmond as Bridget and Gregory Haney as La Cienega. For complete casting information and list of tour cities please visit the announcement on playbill.com.
