Stage Door Players Begins Season With The Last Romance, Joins Suzis

Stage Door Players, Dunwoody’s only professional theatre company, presents the Regional premiere of “The Last Romance” by Joe DiPietro, opening September 23, and running through October 16, 2011. Performance times are Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, and Sunday afternoon matinees at 2:30 pm.

From the Tony Award winning playwright of Over the River and Through the Woods, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Memphis comes a heartwarming boy-meets-girl comedy with one unique difference, the boy and girl are senior citizens! Ralph, a widower, unexpectedly finds love again with Carol, an attractive woman who never expected another chance at love. This touching, romantic comedy proves it is never too late to follow your heart.

Featuring Joanna Daniel, Frank Roberts, Pat Bell and Stephen McCool, the show is Directed by Justin T. Anderson, with Musical Direction by Linda Uzelac.

The design team includes Jim Alford (Costume Design), Dan Bauman (Sound Design), J.D. Williams (Lighting Design), and Chuck Welcome (Scenic Design).  The show is Stage Managed by Hampton Whatley.

Stage Door Players joins the Suzis!

The Suzi Bass Awards, celebrates outstanding work in live theatre and the artists who produce it. Twenty-one professional theatres in Atlanta participate in the awards process. Each theatre season The Suzi Bass Awards volunteer judges choose nominees and recipients in twenty-five performance categories. In addition, the annual Spirit of Suzi Award honors a person or organization for their long-time dedication to Atlanta theater. Stage Door Players is honored to join this amazing organization this season as their 21st eligible professional theatre.
