The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce the cast and creative team behind its world premiere production of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County – Book by Stephen King; Music & Lyrics by John Mellencamp; Musical Direction by T Bone Burnett.
Led by Tony Award® Winner Shuler Hensley (Young Frankenstein, Tarzan, Oklahoma!) and Tony Award® Nominee Emily Skinner (Billy Elliot: The Musical; The Full Monty; Side Show), the cast includes blues musician and film actor Jake La Botz; Broadway star and recording artist Justin Guarini (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown; American Idiot); actor and writer Lucas Kavner; actor and songwriter Kate Ferber (One Child Born: the Music of Laura Nyro); stage and screen actor Christopher Morgan; and Country Music favorite Dale Watson. Additional cast members include – Peter Albrink; Kylie Brown; Lori Beth Edgeman; Gwen Hughes; Joe Jung; Joe Knezevich; Rob Lawhon; Royce Mann; and Travis Smith.
Ghost Brothers of Darkland County boasts an accomplished creative team led by Director Susan V. Booth and supported by Tony Award® winning Scenic Designer Todd Rosenthal (August: Osage County), Choreographer Daniel Pelzig (33 Variations), Costume Designer Susan E. Mickey, Tony Award nominated Lighting Designer Robert Wierzel (Fela!), Media Designer Adam Larsen, and Sound Designer Clay Benning.

The cast of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County will gather in Atlanta on December 5 to participate in a 10-day developmental workshop. Performances are scheduled to begin on the Alliance Stage on April 4, 2012.
Ghost Brothers of Darkland County is a riveting Southern gothic tale fraught with mystery, tragedy and ghosts of the past. This haunting new musical by Stephen King and John Mellencamp has a roots and blues-tinged score with Musical Direction by T Bone Burnett.
