The Ansley Park Playhouse is thrilled to announce that Atlanta’s longest running comedy Peachtree Battle has been extended until February 24. Peachtree Battle, starring the original Deborah Childs and Anna House as Trudy Habersham and Azela Wieuca, tells the story of a blue-blood Buckhead family and what happens when the youngest, favorite son comes home engaged to a Hooters waitress. Add in a cheating husband, illegal maid, the oldest gay son, a carb counting daughter and you truly have a Peachtree Battle.
Also at the Ansley Park Playhouse, from the writers of Peachtree Battle, comes the new comedy Tea Party. You’ve never met Republicans like these! Join us for a night with the family of Mississippi Congressman Thurgood Cannon and his wife Clarissa. Clarissa has spent her entire life making sure that her husband will be on the 2012 presidential election ticket and she is not going to let a little thing like “the will of the people” stand in her way. The cast rounds out it’s hilarity with Zeke, the congressman’s Heisman nominated Ole Miss running back son, Clarissa’s sister, a former Miss Mississippi, the grandmother stricken with Alzheimer’s who thinks she’s Harriet Tubman, and a new press secretary that has no idea what he is in for. Tea Party will run until February 26.
Peachtree Battle performs Thursday and Friday nights at 8:00 p.m.
Tea Party performs Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m.
