Broadway and American Idol Star Justin Guarini to Perform at Benefit for Alliance Theatre

Atlanta's Alliance TheatreAtlanta’s nationally acclaimed Alliance Theatre will host its annual gala A Tony Eveningat the Loews Hotel Atlanta on April 14, 2012. The event benefits the Alliance Theatre’s educational programming.

The 2012 A Tony Evening will honor the work and career of Ingrid Saunders Jones, the senior vice president of Global Community Connections for The Coca-Cola Company and Chair of The Coca-Cola Foundation. Under her leadership, Global Community Connections makes a unique and sustainable difference around the world by focusing its engagement efforts on water stewardship, active healthy living, community recycling and education.

Scheduled entertainment for the evening includes Broadway star, recording artist, and American Idol season one runner up Justin Guarini. Guarini will also star in the Alliance Theatre’s upcoming world premiere musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County – Book by Stephen King; Music and Lyrics by John Mellencamp; Musical Direction by T Bone Burnett.

“Amy and I are looking forward to another hugely successful A Tony Evening,” said Lila Hertz, who is co-chairing A Tony Evening with her daughter, Amy Agami. “We’ve got an amazing committee and the creative talent of the Alliance Theatre staff backing us up! It’s going to be fun!”

A patron party for the event’s sponsors and supporters will be held January 27, 2012. The entertainer for the patron party will be ABC’s Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Ferguson was recently named one of Barbara Walters “10 Most Fascinating People of the Year.”
