Fabrefaction Theater Company is proud to present a one-day-only children’s theatre program: PJ’s and Play! Featuring a performance of The Velveteen Rabbit, you’ll have the chance to experience the beloved story live – followed by a milk and cookies party in the lobby with the actors. Come in your coziest pajamas and enjoy a bedtime story told in a whole new way!
This production also marks the regional premiere of a new adaptation of Margery Williams’ story, in which two adult brothers discover the book while packing up their late mother’s house and, in the course of re-living the past, slowly become the book’s characters. Praised by The New York Times for its “fluid writing” which “added resonance to its new adaptation of Williams’s famous — and famously bittersweet — book”, the script celebrates the delirious joys of childhood, and the twists and turns in growing up and becoming “Real.” This production is directed by Fabrefaction Technical Director Jeffery Martin, who starred in the New York premiere.
