Lady Land! is the coming out, “reality cabaret” of Leola: a redneck, senior citizen exploring her new found sexual identity… and, well, her lady land. One part preacher, one part showgirl, one part reality show junkie, and a whole lotta heart, Leola takes her guests on a journey from heterosexuality to homosexuality. She’s a dancer that can’t sing and a singer that can’t dance. She’s simple and simply, Leola.* Lady Land! premiered at Emerging Artists Theatre in New York City as part of their New Works Series in March 2012. Lady Land! will be performed as part of the first Atlanta Fringe Festival, with shows May 10-12, 2012. More information can be found by visiting http://atlantafringe.org/ladyland/.
