Paul Zaloom presents White Like Me: A Honky-Dory Puppet Show at Center for Puppetry Arts. The political satirist brings the new comedy on the changing face of race to Atlanta.
WHAT: White Like Me by Paul Zaloom of Los Angeles, CA
Hailed by The New York Times as “one of the most original and talented political satirists working in the theater,” Paul Zaloom presents a comedy about the changing face of race in America. White Like Me: A Honky-Dory Puppet Show tackles the gnarly subject of the upcoming de-honky-ization of the United States when white people in America will be what art critic Lucy Lippard once called, “just another other.” Employing toy theater puppetry and ventriloquism, Zaloom explores hidden anxieties among the Caucasian majority, including his own.
White Like Me: A Honky-Dory Puppet Show is part of the Center’s Teen & Adult Series and is recommended for ages 18 and up. Following the Friday, April 20 performance, Zaloom will host a special talkback with the audience. For more information on Paul Zaloom, visit www.zaloom.com.
