Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays celebrates another great year of club comedy performances on the square in downtown Lawrenceville as headliner Rob Cleveland is joined on the main stage by a cavalcade of comedians. Appearing will be the new permanent host of Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays, comedienne Debra Cole along with two of Atlanta’s hottest young comedians Noah Gardenswartz and Mike Kaiser. See them all in one big show on the Aurora Theatre Main Stage June 15 at 8:00 PM. It will be like attending an HBO Comedy Special, live and right in your back yard.
About the Comedians
Comedy legend Rob Cleveland is reminiscent of comedic giants Bill Cosby and Jerry Seinfeld as he finds the silly in those everyday things we tend to gloss over (like, why are there Braille instructions at the drive through ATM?) Rob has performed in many comedy clubs across the country, including: Dangerfield’s in New York City, The Improv in New York City and Los Angeles and several engagements at Atlanta’s Punchline.
Debra Cole, host of Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays since this past January, is known to Atlanta comedy enthusiasts for her wry humor and rapid-fire style. Born on April Fool’s Day, Debra’s sassy audience interaction and left-hook delivery are sure bets to bring the laughs and set the pace for visiting comedians, making Funny Fridays the best comedy show in the metro area.
Noah Gardenswartz is always relaxed on stage and has a wide range of material and a unique perspective on life. His well-crafted mix of jokes, observations and personal stories are all full of the cleverly dry wit that have made him an Atlanta favorite and a national up-and-comer. Before turning to stand-up full time, Gardenswartz worked as a journalist, hedge fund day-trader, drug dealer, and elementary school teacher–though not all at once.
Mike Kaiser is an Atlanta-based comedian whose intelligent writing and slender-build not only sets him apart from dumber, fatter comics, but also earned him the distinction of being named a “Comedic Talent on the Rise” by Atlanta Magazine in 2011. His thought-provoking comedy makes him an audience favorite at clubs and colleges across the country. Mike Kaiser on Atlanta, “The city recently lost its hockey team to Winnipeg, causing many Atlantans to demand answers to questions like, ‘We had a hockey team?’ and ‘Where is Winnipeg?’”
