Stage Door Players, Dunwoody’s only professional theatre company, presents Cole Porter’s High Society. Opening July 13 and running through August 5. Showtimes are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.
Based on the MGM musical film of the same name and Philip Barry’s classic play, The Philadelphia Story, we meet the very wealthy Lord family as they plan the wedding of their daughter Tracy. Ex- husbands, nosy reporters, too much champagne and a pesky little sister all threaten to ruin the happy day. Featuring such great Porter tunes like Well, Did You Evah, Let’s Misbehave, True Love and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Directed by Robert Egizio, with Musical Direction by Linda Uzelac and Choreography by Jen MacQueen, the show features Caleigh Allen, Galen Crawley, George Deavours, Trey Getz, Christopher Lewis, Kathleen McCook, Anthony Owen, Kelly Chapin Schmidt, Caitlin Smith, Hope Valls, Jeremy Varner, Robert Wayne, and Jeremy Wood. The design team includes Jim Alford (Costume Design), Dan Bauman (Sound Design), George Deavours (Wig Design), Mike Magursky (Lighting Design), and Chuck Welcome (Scenic Design). The show is Stage Managed by Renee Jamieson.
