From equal rights to jobless America, The Issues Plays is comprised of a handful of one-act plays that represent many of the social issues resonating in our society today. The audience has a unique opportunity to interact and make tangible changes in our community by opening their hearts, sharing their voices, and driving change.
The Issues Plays feature works from some of today’s top playwrights including Academy Award Winner Ethan Coen (No Country For Old Man, Fargo), Academy Award nominated Kenneth Lonergan (You Can Count On Me), Pulitzer Prize Winner Donald Margulies (Dinner With Friends, Time Stands Still), Tony Award Winner Geoffrey Nauffts (Next Fall), and Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck (Seminar, Mauritius).
Directed by Grant McGowen (Speed-the-Plow, Bachelorette, Lobby Hero) and Bob Putnam, The Issues Plays will also feature some of Atlanta’s best theatrical talents including Jackie Costello (Speed-the-Plow), Stacy Melich (The Motherf**ker with the Hat), Chip Powell (Whole World Theatre) and Doyle Reynolds (Mr. Universe).
“This will likely be one of the greatest theatrical experiences of my life,” says McGowen. “The possibilities are endless, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
