Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton’s only professional theatre company, will hold its annual gala fundraiser “One Enchanted Evening” on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Atlanta Country Club, 500 Atlanta Country Club Dr., SE, Marietta, GA 30067. The black-tie optional gala will be one of several exciting events to be held over the weekend launching Georgia Ensemble Theatre’s historic 20th anniversary season. Attendees at One Enchanted Evening will honor the Rotary Club of Roswell as the ninth annual recipient of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre Legacy Award. Proceeds from this event will support the extensive mainstage, outreach, and theatre for youth programming provided by Georgia Ensemble Theatre and Conservatory.
Georgia Ensemble Theatre instituted the Legacy Award as a way to recognize those individuals, organizations, corporations and foundations that have made long-standing contributions of their time, talent and support to the Georgia Ensemble Theatre over the years. Past honorees include: GET past-president Robert Hagan; founding Trustee Peter Abreu; former Roswell Mayor W.L. “Pug” Mabry; dedicated GET supporters and arts advocates Drs. Tom and Elizabeth Price; Curator of Fulton County’s Teaching Museum North Jacque Coxe; community volunteer and former Georgia Ensemble Theatre Trustee Helen Owens; the Roswell Woman’s Club; and long-time corporate partners, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Bank of North Georgia, Macy’s and Northside Hospital. GET President Emeritus and Trustee Coe Hamling was named the inaugural recipient of the Theatre’s Legacy Award.
“One Enchanted Evening” will begin at 6:30 p.m. on September 8 at the Atlanta Country Club, and will include a silent auction, cocktails (open bar), a four-course gourmet dinner, and dancing. Former President of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre Board of Trustees Robert W. Hagan serves as Chairman for this gala event. Individual tickets to this event including dinner and entertainment are $150 each. The 2012-2013 “Emerald” Anniversary GET Season:
Georgia Ensemble Theatre’s 2012-2013 season has its grand celebration opening two days before One Enchanted Evening with the outrageous American comedy The Man Who Came to Dinner running September 6 through the 23; followed by a revival of the hit holiday musical A Taffeta Christmas running November 7-18; and we launch into 2013 with the world premiere of the comedy Swell Party by Atlanta’s own Topher Payne running January 10-27; then we present the mystery thriller Sherlock Holmes and the Adventures of the Suicide Club from February 28-March 17; and our season ends with the blockbuster Broadway musical Hello, Dolly! from April 11-28th.
