This November 3 at 8 p.m., join Aurora Swing Nights for a Road Trip Down Memory Lanefor another great concert featuring the Metro Jazz Club. With the holiday season approaching, folks will love taking a nostalgic look back in time in preparation for this year’s family travels.
Aurora Swing Nights featuring Metro Jazz Club are a series of concerts with magnificent music performed in an intimate venue with powerhouse vocalists. The Metro Jazz Club is a smokin’-hot 17 piece band, dedicated to the preservation of some of the best music ever composed, from the smoothest jazz to the spirited rhythms of swing. Led by jazz sax man Gary Dalton, the band is accompanied by crooner Jason Joines and zesty diva Amanda Richards.
Two very special guest vocalists will be on hand for the concert as well. Aurora audiences will best remember Ingrid Cole for her 2010 Suzi Award-winning performance in A Catered Affair. Ingrid is nominated once again for the Suzi Award for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Musical for her breathtaking performance as Mama Rose in Gypsy at Atlanta Lyric Theatre. Bold and brassy, she is one of this region’s busiest performers. She will be joined by Liberty Cogen, who recently took Atlanta theatre audiences by storm with her portrayal of the title character in Kiss of the Spiderwoman at Actor’s Express. She is thrilled to be home in Atlanta after traveling with the first national tour of Legally Blonde: The Musical. Liberty will star in The Drowsy Chaperone at Aurora Theatre in March. So sit back, relax and let Aurora take the wheel for a Road Trip Down Memory Lane.
