UniverSoul Circus Holds Auditions in Atlanta October 16


Any successful show or event is only as good as the host that keeps the crowd engaged, keeps the show moving and generates enough good will, humor and fun to make the night and experience unforgettable. The circus is definitely no different.

As it approaches its 20th Anniversary in 2013, UniverSoul Circus, the most unforgettable global experience of circus arts, music, dance and style, is looking for its next UniverSoul Star to serve as Host – UniverSoul’s new designation for “Ringmaster.” All races and ethnicities are welcome to audition.

Nationally renowned playwright and talent scout Angela Barrow-Dunlap and The UniverSoul Circus choreographer Vic Carter will be on hand, looking to discover the next UniverSoul Star. The talent search will kick off Tuesday, October 10, 2012 in Chicago and culminate in Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Other stops on the tour will include Washington, DC on October 12, 2012 and Atlanta, GA on October 16, 2012.

Philadelphia PA – 52nd & Parkside Ave (4800 Parkside Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19131)

  • Monday October 29th 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. (Comedic Actors, Mimes, Improv – Individuals or Troupes)
  • Tuesday October 30th noon – 4 p.m. (Dancers)

In each city on the casting call/audition tour, UniverSoul representatives will be looking for male and female professional caliber comedic actors, mimes and dancers of all races and ethnicities. Persons with strong improvisational skills are urged to audition. Dancers must possess a strong technical aptitude in ballet, modern dance and contemporary dance styles and possess a strong dramatic stage presence. Actors should prepare a one-minute routine and dancers will be taught a combination routine. All interested parties must bring a photo and resume and be able to travel in a non-union production.

“We are looking to discover that individual or group of individuals with stand-out talent, electrifying personalities and the gifted ability to engage audiences and pull them into the very magical experience,” said Barrow-Dunlap.

The international cast includes 80 world-class acrobats, contortionists, aerialists, martial artists, dancers, comedians, clowns, zebras, llamas, giraffes, tigers, horses and elephants.
