Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays Ladies Night with Headliner Karen Mills

Karen Mills

Aurora Theatre’s Funny Fridays — club comedy performances on the square in downtown Lawrenceville–offers an expanded schedule this season with the introduction of Funny Fridays: Saturday Edition. This November Aurora welcomes an all-female roster of comediennes with hilarious headliner Karen Mills. November 16 and 17, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. will be a great weekend of comedy featuring three ladies who are downright funny. Appearing with Karen Mills will be the host of Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays, comedienne Debra Cole along with “The Cougar Comedian,” as the feature act.

About The Comedians

Karen Mills
A native of Tennessee, Karen Mills has been a nationally touring comedian for 20 years and can be heard regularly on Sirius/XM comedy channels. In fact, she just taped a one hour special for Blue Collar Radio. Karen has shared the stage with many great comedians including Joan Rivers, Ron White and Jon Stewart. She most recently appeared on The Henry Cho Show and is an original member of “The Southern Fried Chicks Comedy Tour.” She has performed at numerous women’s conventions including the national convention for the Red Hat Society, but don’t think that’s all she can do, her comedy is friendly and relatable to both genders — in other words, men love her too. This natural performer has a keen sense of timing and a wide range of topics giving her a broad audience appeal.

The Cougar Comedian”
She jumped off the corporate ladder nine years ago and landed on her feet by reinventing herself as a standup comedian whose alter ego knows what it’s like to be on the wrong side of 35 while combating chronic dry eye and being rejected by eHarmony. Her social commentary is about not giving up on your dreams–Even if it means self-medicating and nonstop dieting to combat “pitboobs” and “bingowings.” A Connecticut-based road comedian, she is thrilled to be returning to her fans in the South.

Debra Cole, host of Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays since this past January, is known to Atlanta comedy enthusiasts for her wry humor and rapid-fire style.
