Actor’s Express is thrilled to announce Equus, the classic drama by Peter Shaffer. The production opens on Saturday night, March 23, 2013, 8pm curtain, preview performances are March 21 and 22, and the pay-what-you-want sneak peek, “Director’s Rough Cut”, is Wednesday, March 20. Chris Kayser leads the talented cast as Dr. Dysart, and the company introduces Kyle Brumley as the troubled Alan Strang. ABOUT EQUUS

Troubled young Alan Strang has blinded six horses, and no one knows why. When ambitious psychiatrist Richard Dysart begins treating the boy, he launches into a dangerous odyssey through Alan’s complex psyche — igniting his own journey of self-discovery. This searing Tony-winning classic ran on Broadway for over 1200 performances and stands as one of the greatest plays of our time.

ABOUT THE CAST

Chris Kayser is in the complex role of Dr. Dysart; Alan Strang is played by Kyle Brumley; Strang’s parents are played by Joanna Daniel and Rial Ellsworth; Kathleen Wattis is Hesther Saloman; Sarah Elizabeth Wallis is Jill Mason; Eric Brooks is Dalton; and Rachel Shuey is the Nurse. Interns Christina Boland, Matthew Busch, Dyana Nikole Edwards, Jordan Hale, Jason-Jamal Ligon and Bryn Striepe are the horses.
