About the Play

Hello, Dolly! is a hugely popular Tony Award-winning Broadway musical by the legendary creative team of Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart. Based on Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, this memorable musical regales us with the heartwarming story of life’s second chances as maneuvered by the indomitable Dolly Levi, who states in her daily code, “Some people paint, some sew … I meddle.” Audiences will travel on a whirlwind race around turn-of-the-century New York City while being treated to some of the most beloved show tunes of all time, including “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” and of course the favorite, “Hello, Dolly.”
