ART Station Presents The Marvelous Wonderettes, Caps and Gowns

To get a head start on the new school year, ART Station has invited well-known Atlanta director and choreographer Karen Beyer to direct The Marvelous Wonderettes, Caps & Gowns, a light-hearted musical that will take theater-goers back to the 1958s. All shows run Thursdays through Sundays from July 10 – 27 and tickets are available online at or by calling 770-469-1105.

The Marvelous Wonderettes, Caps and Gowns are four teenage girls, played by Alana Cheshire, Laura Floyd, Lisa Manuli & Tania Yegelwel, all with hopes and dreams as big as their petticoats. We’re back in 1958, and it’s time for the Wonderettes to graduate in this delightful sequel to the smash off-Broadway hit! Join Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy as they sing about their final year in high school, celebrate with their fellow classmates and teachers, and prepare for their next step toward a bright future. Act Two zooms ahead to 1968, where the girls perform as bride and bridesmaids to celebrate Missy’s marriage to Mr. Lee! Featuring “Rock Around the Clock,” “At the Hop,” “Dancing in the Street,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” and 25 more hits, Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns will have you cheering for more! “Delightful and nostalgic – a guaranteed good time!” –Broadway World. The show’s musical direction is by Patrick Hutchison.

“I am thrilled to direct this fun and lively show at ART Station – this will be my third time here as guest director,” says Karen Beyer. She has been resident choreographer at ART Station for 13 years, and has previously directed last year’s The Marvelous Wonderettes, Married Alive! and Are We There Yet?

Karen has more than 30 years of experience as a ballet, ballroom and disco professional and has choreographed for Disney, Theatre in the Square, Springer Theatre and the Colquitt/Miller Arts Council.  Karen is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA and has been seen on stage at ART Station, the Alliance Theatre, Ansley Park Playhouse, Theatrical Outfit and the McGinn/Cazale Theatre in N.Y.  Recent film & TV credits include: Devious Maids, The TLC Story, Joyful Noise, and the upcoming feature Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
