Christmas Entertainment Goes Out of Box

Out of Box Theatre is offering an alternative to your usual holiday entertainment choices with two decidedly different productions.  For the whole family, Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol is sure to please.  Everybody knows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge’s miraculous redemption, but what about his late business partner, Jacob Marley? Marley, after all, was the ghost responsible for the old miser’s transformation, so isn’t it time he got a little recognition? A funny and heartwarming show, Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol takes you behind the scenes of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic.
And if you usually find yourself on Santa’s Naughty List, then Santa After Hours is for you. This decidedly adult take on the season features new and original short works by some rather twisted local playwrights. It’s a naughty romp filled with tales of holiday joy, excess and frustration. And with titles like Snow Job, Spencer’s Puppet Musical and No, Virginia, There Is No Santa Claus, you know you’re in for something a little different from the usual cheery holiday show.
Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol runs December 5-20, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM. Santa After Hours runs December 5-20, Fridays and Saturdays at 10 PM.  Out of Box Theatre is located in the Artisan Resource Center at 585 Cobb Pkwy S, Marietta, 30060. Tickets are $20-$25 and can be purchased online at or by calling 678-653-4605.
