The teachings of Jesus and the words of Genesis are the script for a pair of unique presentations by actor Bill Oberst, Jr. Oberst’s love of the Bible, history and language are on display in “Jesus of Nazareth,” a first-person recreation of the teaching of Christ, with a text taken entirely from the New Testament Gospels. Oberst has performed “Jesus of Nazareth” over 1,200 times in churches and colleges nationwide since 1999.

“The Book of Genesis,” taken from the most direct translations of both the Bible and the Torah, is the subject of “Genesis” a dramatic reading of the famous text. Oberst brings out the majesty, the humor and most of all, the humanity in the characters of the famous stories, from The Creation to The Covenant to Joseph and His Brothers. These are stories every literate adult was once expected to know; stories of human weakness and Divine strength. Come hear them anew. “Genesis” is a new presentation—this will be its East Coast premiere.
