Come Fly Away, a musical conceived, directed and choreographed by Twyla Tharp, will begin its nationwide tour at the Fox Theatre on August 2. The musical not only uses the music of Frank Sinatra, but also his actual recorded vocals under an arrangement with the Sinatra family and Frank Sinatra Enterprises.
It is fitting for the tour to start in Atlanta since the musical made its world premiere at the Alliance Theatre in September 2009. Then, the show was called Come Fly With Me. In addition to Atlanta, audiences on Broadway and in Las Vegas were able to experience the combination of Sinatra’s music and Tharp’s choreography.
The tour will star Matthew Stockwell Dibble, Cody Green, Laurie Kanyok, Marielys Molina, John Selya, Ron Todorowski, all who performed in the original Broadway cast of Come Fly Away. Additionally, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Martin Harvey, Ramona Kelley and Christopher Vo will star alongside an ensemble that includes Anthony Burrell, Mallauri Esquibel, Marina Lazzaretto, Meredith Miles, Marceea Moreno, Candy Olsen, Julius Anthony Rubio, Amy Ruggiero, Justin Urso, Tanairi Sade Vazquez, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, and Michael Williams.
Presented by Theater of the Stars, the show runs August 2 to 7. For tickets visit the Fox Theatre box office, any Ticketmaster outlet, the Ticketmaster website or call 800-745-3000.
