Atlanta playwright Cleage examines the lives, memories, and hope of four black women pioneers expecting a better life in the West away from the uncertainties of the post-Civil War South. However, their new surroundings are not free of danger and unexpected turns. The New York Times called it “gripping…a paean to women.”
The cast includes: Cynthia Barker, Donna Biscoe, Joy Brunson, Marguerite Hannah, Nadir Mateen, and E. Roger Mitchell.
